Located in Pechão, in the municipality of Olhão, this park presents itself as a vast green space that integrates into the local landscape. Its design aimed to reconcile urban expansion with the preservation of the natural characteristics of the Algarve Barrocal, creating a transitional environment between the city and the countryside.

The park is located in a developing area, functioning as an important green lung that offers a natural and accessible refuge to the inhabitants and visitors of the Olhão region.

Natural Essence

The identity of this space is strongly marked by the presence of water lines that cross it, namely the Brejo Stream, functioning as its natural backbone. This aquatic element not only defines the landscape but also contributes to the richness of the local flora and fauna.

It is possible to observe, in some areas, the formation of temporary water mirrors, which are created in response to the stream levels, adding a dynamic scenic dimension to the park. Along the streams, the riparian gallery, composed of a dense strip of trees, is a natural element that enhances the biodiversity and beauty of the aquatic course.

Rural Heritage

In the northern part of the park, there are traditional farmhouses that exemplify the typical vernacular architecture of the Algarve Barrocal. These buildings, accompanied by elements such as water wheels, tanks, and old walls, are living testimonies of the region's rural history, inviting reflection on agricultural practices of yesteryear.

The presence of extensive orange groves and pine forest areas complements this bucolic scenery, allowing visitors an immersive experience in landscapes that evoke Olhão's agricultural and cultural past.
