The Albufeira Marina is located on the western waterfront of the city, in a sheltered cove that extends over the Atlantic Ocean. The surroundings combine white and colorful houses with the vastness of the sea, offering a visual continuity between the sports harbor and the coastline.
This space is a short walk from the historic center, so it is possible to go from the old cobblestone streets to the tranquil shores of the marina in just a few minutes. Its position in the heart of the Algarve makes it accessible to those exploring the region.
Inaugurated in 2003, Albufeira Marina was born from the ambition to create a modern harbor, capable of accommodating pleasure craft and promoting nautical life in the region. From its inception, it was recognized for the quality of its infrastructure and its respect for the environment.
Over the years, it has received international awards, including the five gold anchors awarded by The Yacht Harbour Association and the title of the second best marina in the world in 2015. In 2022, it was awarded International Clean Marina, and since 2003 it has proudly flown the Blue Flag, a symbol of its commitment to coastal conservation.
The architectural design stands out for its facades painted in soft tones, which are reflected in the calm water surface, creating a unique photographic setting. The clean lines of the breakwaters contrast with the fluidity of the sea, lending a contemporary character to the ensemble.
As one strolls along the waterfront, a succession of pergolas, palm trees, and green spaces emerge, softening the transition between the built environment and the deep blue of the ocean. This balance between architecture and nature invites visitors to enjoy the unhurried rhythm of the maritime atmosphere.
