GAMA RAMA Gallery is located in the heart of Faro, integrated into the historic area of Sé and São Pedro. It is situated on a picturesque cobbled street, reflecting the traditional atmosphere of this part of the Algarve city. Its central position makes it easily accessible for those exploring Faro's urban and historic center.
This art gallery occupies part of a historic building, connected to the structure of Palácio Bivar, a notable example of neoclassical civil architecture in the region. The space that now houses the gallery formerly corresponded to the areas intended for the palace staff. Upon entering, it is possible to observe the beauty of the 18th-century tiles in the access area, elements that testify to the antiquity and original character of the building, creating an interesting contrast with the contemporary art exhibited inside.
GAMA RAMA Gallery is a meeting point for art and creativity in Faro. Founded with the purpose of revitalizing the local art scene, the gallery hosts periodically changing exhibitions, presenting works by various artists. In addition to the exhibition areas, the space also serves as a studio for resident artists, where they work in different disciplines such as painting, illustration, jewelry, and tattooing. Inside the gallery, there is also a room with a vibrant mural by artist Mariana Malhão, which captures her impressions of the Algarve, and it is possible to discover other unique corners of the building, such as a room that once served as a place of prayer for the palace inhabitants. There is also an area where visitors can appreciate and purchase works by local and national artists.
