Dom Pedro Old Course is located in the Vilamoura area, within the Loulé municipality, in Quarteira. This area, recognized for its strong connection to golf, offers an urban setting that integrates harmoniously with the countryside landscape. It thus provides an environment dedicated to sports practice, in tune with the surrounding nature of the Algarve.
Inaugurated in 1969, Dom Pedro Old Course stands out as one of the oldest golf courses in the Algarve, being the original course in the Vilamoura area. Its initial layout was designed by Frank Pennink, who aimed to create an inland course capable of recalling the quality of the great British courses. This original vision established a standard of excellence that, since its opening, has kept it as one of the most notable in Portugal and Europe. In 1997, the course benefited from significant improvements and renovations, supervised by Hawtree.
