Situated in the Monchique Mountains, Parque da Mina is located in the village of Barracão, amidst an exuberant natural landscape. Heritage and Tradition

At the heart of Parque da Mina is an 18th-century manor house, carefully preserved to present itself as a "living house." Here, more than an exhibition space, visitors can observe what daily life in the mountains was like over fifty years ago, with objects and environments arranged as if the family still inhabited them. This space offers an authentic insight into the traditions and way of life of the Monchique Mountains, including recreations of old trades such as the grocery store, shoemaker, carpenter, and seamstress.

Furthermore, activities related to arbutus berry distillation, agriculture, and the artisanal production of bread and honey are highlighted, as well as methods of ore extraction and charcoal production, elements that compose the rich local history. The park also displays old means of transport, which help to illustrate the evolution of life in this region.

Beyond its cultural and historical value, Parque da Mina invites close contact with nature and offers various activities. Visitors can discover the region's characteristic flora and fauna, and interact with farm animals, in an experience that appeals to all ages. A viewpoint allows visitors to appreciate panoramic views over the park and the surrounding mountains, while the suspension bridge over the waterfall provides an unusual moment and a picturesque setting.
