Cais F is situated in the riverside area of Lagos, in the neighbourhood known as Bairro Operário. It is integrated into the city's revitalized waterfront, offering a view over the estuary's water. Its location is particularly interesting, positioned between the Castelo dos Governadores (Governors' Castle) and the former site of the old Casa da Dízima (Tithes House), historical landmarks that frame this space.

Historical Legacy

This site possesses a rich and diverse past, having been known over time by different designations, such as Cais da Ribeira (Riverside Quay), Cais de Alcântara (Alcântara Quay), or Cais da Alfândega (Customs Quay). At its core, Cais F is a testament to Lagos's deep historical connection to the sea. For centuries, it served as a vital point of access to the city, articulated with the 16th-century wall and its gates, allowing the circulation of people and goods between the city's interior and maritime life.

Memory and Redevelopment

The history of Cais F is also a narrative of urban transformation.
