- Located in the parish of Nossa Senhora da Tourega and Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, 12 km from the city of Évora.
- Founded in the 16th century by Cardinal Infante Dom Henrique, who was also the first archbishop of Évora and later King Henry I of Portugal.
- Created to house a community of Capuchin friars.
- The convent was closed in 1834 due to the extinction of Religious Orders.
- In 1980, the convent was integrated into the University of Évora.
