The Redondo Regional Wine Museum is located in Praça da República (Republic Square), occupying a central position in the town. It is in an easily accessible area, in the heart of Redondo.
Inaugurated in September 2001, the Regional Wine Museum was designed to present and disseminate the importance of the vitivinicultural tradition in Alentejo. This museum serves as a starting point for those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the wine produced in this region.
The museum's collection includes a diversity of objects that tell the history of wine, from ancient times to the present day. Here, visitors can observe traditional agricultural implements, tools, and utensils used in the winemaking process, accompanied by images and explanatory texts.
One of the highlights of the collection is the ceramic material, as Redondo is a recognized center for its pottery production, intimately linked to the history of wine in the region. The arrangement of elements in the museum seeks to reproduce the various stages of production, from vine cultivation and grape harvesting to bottling and, finally, the act of tasting the wine.
The space is organized by interconnected floors, reflecting the idea of a continuous cycle in winemaking activity, allowing visitors to follow the wine's journey logically and intuitively.
In addition to its main exhibition, the museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions that explore different aspects related to wine, art, and local culture.
There is also a multimedia information point available for visitors, which offers additional details about the museum and allows for a better understanding of the producing wineries and other wine-related activities in the Redondo area.
