The Agricultural Implements Museum is located in the Santo André area, a part of Estremoz that developed outside the older historic center. The space housing the collection functions as a visitable reserve and is integrated into this urban environment of the city.
At the Agricultural Implements Museum, visitors can find an extensive collection of agricultural implements. This collection gathers the tools and equipment that, over time, were essential for working the land in the Estremoz region. Each piece tells a part of the history of effort and rural life.
The origin of this collection dates back to small exhibitions at local fairs, which grew to become a large exhibition during an agro-livestock event in 1987. The interest shown by the community and local entities led to this display becoming permanent. The pieces were carefully collected from the old farmhouses of the region, through dedicated research and recovery work.
This collection is not just a set of objects; it represents the memory of generations linked to agriculture in the Estremoz region. By preserving these implements, the history of farm work and the techniques used are kept alive. Currently, the space operates as a Visitable Reserve, allowing interested parties to access and closely explore this rural heritage.
