The Entre Águas Water Mill is located in the parish of Pavia, in the municipality of Mora. This rural heritage site is situated on the south bank of the Ribeira da Raia, integrated into a natural landscape characteristic of the Alentejo. Its position reflects a deep harmony with the surrounding riverside and rural environment.
Visitors to this spot discover a place where the green of the vegetation and the gentle flow of the water create a serene atmosphere, typical of an area that was once vital for local subsistence.
This mill is an example of the traditional horizontal wheel typology, an ancestral milling method that harnessed the power of water to transform cereals into flour. It represents an important legacy of the region's molinological heritage.
Although precise dating is challenging, its existence is estimated to date back, at least, to the 18th century. It is a testament to an era when these structures were crucial for community life, marking the landscape with their presence and functionality.
Currently, the Entre Águas Water Mill is deeply enveloped by nature, with the main body of its structure almost entirely covered by vegetation. This fusion with the surrounding environment gives it a picturesque and exploratory appearance.
Although the mill itself is covered, it is possible to access the old Miller's House. This supporting structure offers insight into the lifestyle of those who operated these mills and allows for a closer experience of the site's history, set against a backdrop of natural tranquility.
