The Divor Dam is located in an area known as Chamboa, an integral part of the locality of Igrejinha. Situated in the municipality of Arraiolos, Évora district, the dam stands over the Divor Stream, integrated into the characteristic Alentejo landscape.
The Divor Dam was inaugurated in 1965. Its construction's main purpose was to supply water for agricultural purposes, namely for the irrigation of the surrounding lands, and it still performs this essential function in the region today.
The presence of the dam creates an extensive body of water that integrates into the rural Alentejo landscape. This aquatic environment, surrounded by the typical fields and hills of the region, offers a setting of tranquility and an invitation to serenity. The area around the reservoir may also be of interest to those who enjoy nature observation.
