Located near Porta do Sol, on the slope of Evoramonte Castle, with an open view of the Alentejo landscape.
This is a small hermitage with very simple and geometric features. The main structure is a white cube, topped by a semi-spherical dome. At the top, there is a small pyramidal element that gives it a curious appearance.
It is isolated, surrounded by nature, which makes it a quiet stop and ideal for those who appreciate silence, wide views and less touristy spaces.
Some researchers suggest that it may have been only the initial part of a larger construction, while others believe that this small chapel is a complete construction in itself. There are also theories that point to Muslim influence in its conception.
Above the entrance door, there is a set of blue tiles that form a simple pattern, the only visible decorative element on a very sober facade.
Despite being modest and showing signs of wear, it remains relatively well preserved. The natural surroundings contribute to the charm of the place.
Access is via dirt roads. Ideal for those who enjoy short walks or trips off the beaten path.
