This small hermitage is located in the area of Courelas do Bico e da Calva, within the locality of Colmeal, belonging to the municipality of Redondo. Its location, slightly set apart from the village center, grants it an atmosphere of greater tranquility and seclusion.
The Hermitage of São Miguel de Adaval features an architectural structure that points to the 16th century, fitting into the 16th-century style. The building comprises the usual elements of a hermitage: the main nave, the chancel, and the sacristy. It also includes a baptistery. The porch that precedes the main entrance was an addition made at a later stage in its history.
Inside, the hermitage's chancel features decorative elements of interest. Traces of mural paintings can be observed on the walls, with vegetal motifs standing out in these representations. In another area of the interior space, the baptismal font is located, a piece dating from the 18th century, adding a detail from a distinct era to the hermitage as a whole.
