The Redondo Municipal Archive is located in the town's Industrial Zone, an area that reflects its practical and essential function. The building that houses it is the result of a remarkable restructuring of old industrial warehouses, an example of how industrial heritage can be reinvented. This location, near the Redondo Cultural Center, gives it a strategic position as part of a hub dedicated to safeguarding and promoting local culture.

The Memory of Redondo

This cultural facility, inaugurated in 2008, was meticulously prepared to house and protect the vast documentation that narrates the history of the municipality. Previously dispersed and at risk, these records were carefully collected and organized. The Municipal Archive is today the guardian of a significant documentary collection, including eighteen funds that cover various aspects of Redondo's administration, society, and daily life throughout the centuries. Here, each document is a fundamental piece for understanding the past, from municipal decisions to records of ancient brotherhoods. Among its treasures, a parchment from 1365 stands out, the oldest document under its custody, a unique window into medieval Redondo.

The Redondo Municipal Archive plays an active role in valuing and sharing its heritage. In addition to being a reference point for researchers and historians, who find an invaluable source of information there, the Archive regularly promotes various initiatives to make its collection known to the general public. Through thematic exhibitions, which reveal unique documents, and educational activities, this space seeks to make local history accessible and engaging. Recently, a valuable photographic collection from the Municipality was also incorporated, further enriching the visual memories of the municipality. The documents preserved here are unique and original, possessing incalculable historical and cultural value, essential for unraveling the layers of Redondo's identity.
