, Brotherhood of Mercy of Tentúgal founded in March 1583 by royal charter of D. Filipe I.

, Construction of the church began in 1583, with the facade completed in 1588 and other parts completed until 1600.

, Improvement works between 1685 and 1694 under the direction of the architect Francisco Rodrigues.
