The history of this space dates back to the early 20th century. In 1926, the Grupo Musical de Ceira (Ceira Musical Group) emerged, aiming to enhance the parish's religious events and, simultaneously, support those most in need. Later, through the merger with other local entities, such as the Clube de Instrução e Recreio de Ceira (Ceira Instruction and Recreation Club) (founded in 1949), the current association took shape, consolidating its cultural and social role in the community's life.

Musical Tradition

One of the central aspects of activity at this location has been the promotion of music. Over the years, the association has maintained a functioning music school, training generations of musicians. Its band actively participates in festive events and processions. One of its most notable and historical participations was the musical accompaniment of Queen Saint Isabel's float in her procession, a recognition of its cultural importance in the region.

Legacy and Memory

Currently, the facilities serve as the headquarters for the Associação Recreativa e Musical de Ceira, housing not only the music school but also a museum space. This museum seeks to preserve and share the rich history of the institution and its contribution to the identity of Ceira.
