The waters that refresh Ronqueira River Beach come from the Alva River, a mountain stream known for its cleanliness. This riverine environment allows for the observation of diverse wildlife, from birds such as kingfishers, crows, and swallows, to mammals like foxes. On the banks and in the water, it's possible to find amphibians like frogs and toads, and various fish species, including largemouth bass, barbel, carp, trout, and eels. The presence of surrounding trees contributes to a pleasant atmosphere, ideal for appreciating the region's natural elements.
Ronqueira River Beach is a place designed for the well-being of its visitors. Next to the bathing area, there is a park with tables and barbecues, inviting outdoor gatherings. This space provides a relaxing environment for those seeking to enjoy the freshness of the river waters and the shade offered by the surrounding vegetation. For hiking enthusiasts, the beach is a passing point of the Grande Rota do Alva, allowing exploration of the landscape through pedestrian paths that climb the hills, revealing the colors and scents of the woods.
This bathing area stands out for its strong commitment to accessibility. Ronqueira River Beach underwent a profound refurbishment that made it suitable for receiving people with reduced mobility, as well as visually or hearing-impaired visitors. It features its own parking, adapted toilets and changing rooms, as well as an amphibious chair to facilitate water access. Furthermore, it has a lifting platform for transitioning between different levels of the beach area. On-site signage is presented in Portuguese, English, and Braille, complemented by large pictograms, and walking sticks and a walker are available. Also considering companion animals, there is a dedicated area for guide dogs and drinking fountains.
