Parque dos Marmelos is located in the town of Oliveira do Hospital, part of the union of parishes of Oliveira do Hospital and São Paio de Gramaços. This green space is conveniently integrated into the urban fabric, close to educational institutions and the municipal swimming pools, making it an easily accessible point for residents and visitors to the area.

A Revitalized Green Space

Redeveloped over an area of approximately 2.5 hectares, Parque dos Marmelos stands as an important green lung in Oliveira do Hospital. Designed to promote well-being and the enjoyment of nature within an urban context, this park offers a calm and inviting environment. It represents a notable effort in creating an ecological corridor, which contributes to the environmental quality of the town and provides a meeting point for different generations.

Natural and Riverside Environment

At the heart of the park, the Ribeira de Cavalos stream underwent intervention to enhance its natural beauty. The construction of small weirs creates delicate water mirrors along its course, enriching the landscape. The riparian vegetation and existing oak trees were preserved, maintaining the authenticity and natural character of the place. Pedestrian paths wind through this environment, inviting relaxing strolls and contemplation of nature.

Leisure and Social Areas

Parque dos Marmelos is equipped with various areas designed for leisure and socializing. It includes a children's area dedicated to recreational activities, promoting interaction among children. For outdoor cultural activities, there is an auditorium integrated into the terrain's topography. Visitors also find a space designed for skateboarding and other sports activities, in addition to a specific and equipped area for pet well-being, namely a dog park. A multi-purpose building, resulting from the recovery of a pre-existing construction, complements the available infrastructure.
