Integrated into the expansive Parque do Cerejal, this space connects the town center with the riverside areas, ideal for those seeking a natural retreat without straying from the urban core.

Origin and Memory

The Hugo Miguel Piteira Barata Playground was created as a tribute from Alcindo Duarte Barata and Clementina Maria Ferreira Piteira Barata to their son, perpetuating his memory through a place designed for children. On June 4, 2023, the requalification of this space was completed, renewing equipment and improving the durability of materials.

The intervention also included enhanced accessibility, allowing for strollers and facilitating access for those with reduced mobility, without compromising harmony with the rest of Parque do Cerejal.

Environment and Equipment

The park features a soft surface surrounded by a well-maintained lawn, complemented by benches and tables that invite relaxation or small picnics. The bandstand, located at the northern end, offers a scenic spot that integrates with the tree line, providing a tranquil view of the river.

The renovated playground features modern structures, designed to stimulate children's balance and motor development, always in areas shaded by cork oaks and alders. Pedestrian paths line the entire enclosure, ideal for calm strolls and observing the local flora and avifauna.
