A Project with Purpose

More than just a park, this place distinguishes itself by its social mission, being an innovative project focused on creating opportunities for individuals in situations of labor exclusion or with disabilities and mental illness. This commitment earned it various recognitions, including national awards and the selection, in 2014, to represent Portugal in the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh International Prize, which aims to promote tolerance and non-violence, thus reflecting the intrinsic values of the park.

Encounter with Portuguese Wildlife

In the heart of Serra da Lousã, the park functions as a sanctuary for national fauna and flora. Visitors can closely observe a vast collection of Portuguese wildlife, including rare species and some that were once extinct in the national territory, such as the brown bear, mouflon, and lynx. The carefully preserved environment approximates the animals' natural habitat, allowing for an experience of proximity to Portuguese biodiversity.

Diversity of Themed Spaces

In addition to wildlife observation, the park offers a variety of themed spaces that enrich the visit. A Fruit Tree Labyrinth stands out as a notable structure for its originality. There is also an Educational Farm that houses Portuguese domestic animal breeds, and an Equestrian Center where one can practice horse riding. The complex also includes museums dedicated to Traditional Arts and Crafts, Cooperage, and the Space of the Mind. At one of the park's highest points, a Universalist Ecumenical Temple stands, a place of reflection and symbolism.
