The Museum of the League of Friends of the Mondego Fields (LACAM) was inaugurated in 1992 and is managed by LACAM, which is dedicated to preserving objects that represent life and artisanal crafts up to the 1960s.
The museum houses a rich ethnographic collection with more than a thousand pieces related to agriculture, river fishing, food, spinning, transportation, traditional crafts, clothing, wine, olive oil, and everyday items.
In addition to the objects, the museum has a variety of valuable graphic and textual documents that help to understand the history of the Lower Mondego communities. This includes clippings from old newspapers, old photographs, and a collection of posters from local festivals in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows over the past 100 years.
During the anniversary celebration, the new president of the board honored the "valadores," typical figures of the region who were responsible for draining water from the land with their shovels. The museum seeks to keep the memory of these past times alive.
LACAM emphasizes its dependence on the collaboration of members and friends of the association to continue to keep the region's history alive. They seek to involve young people from the parish to participate actively.
