The Prazo de Santa Marinha National Forest is located in the Serra da Boa Viagem, just 6 km from Figueira da Foz, with spectacular views over the city and the coastline.
With 440 hectares, it is a wooded area mainly composed of broadleaf and resinous trees, where acacias are predominant.
The space is home to several native species, such as oaks and strawberry trees, and is a place where efforts are made to control invasive plants.
It offers hiking trails that allow you to explore nature, as well as picnic areas and viewpoints.
The forest has picnic parks, a network of paths with 17 km and a football field, making it an excellent space for leisure.
Created in 1913, the forest is managed by the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests, which works on its preservation and enhancement.
The landscape diversity and natural regeneration make this place a popular destination for both locals and visitors.
