The Casa do Sal Garden is located at the northern entrance of Coimbra city, in the municipality of the same name, situated in the Conchada area. Its location is easily identifiable next to Praça Água de Maias, better known as the Casa do Sal roundabout, a landmark for those entering or leaving the city via this route.

A Natural Setting:

This garden offers a setting that combines landscape intervention with natural elements. Traversed by the Coselhas stream, the site is notable for its diverse vegetation. Here, it is possible to observe both introduced species, such as the imposing palm trees and the lush plane trees, or the vibrant oleanders with their flowers, as well as the original riparian vegetation. This includes willows, alders, ash trees, and poplars, which once delineated the area where the stream's waters expanded before joining the Mondego, in its former bed.

Bridge and Green Perspectives:

A unique feature of the garden is its wooden bridge, which establishes a connection to Monte Formoso. Walking across this bridge, visitors are invited to closely appreciate the rich vegetation bordering the stream, offering different perspectives on the natural environment. With some attention, it is possible to observe various bird species that inhabit this ecosystem, including small tits, enriching the experience of those who visit the space.

A Space for Leisure and Socializing:

Inaugurated in 1996, the Casa do Sal Garden was designed to be a place for recreation and gathering. It is a sunny space, inviting for rest and socializing, making it suitable for a peaceful stroll or family leisure moments. Its welcoming atmosphere and the presence of open areas provide a relaxed environment, ideal for a break from the city routine.
