The Youth Activities Center (Espaço Jovem) is located in Arganil, in an area integrated into the Mourão zone. A Built History

This building possesses a notable history, beginning in the early years of the 20th century. Built around 1912, its original purpose was to serve as the municipal slaughterhouse. Its size and robustness led it to be adapted for various functions over the decades, provisionally housing the Court and the Republican Guard facilities, before dedicating itself for many years to the municipal veterinary services.

This evolution is a testament to the adaptability of Arganil's built heritage. An initial service structure progressively transformed, until, in 2003, after significant renovation works began in 2001, the building was reinaugurated, assuming its current identity and function.

In its current form, the Youth Activities Center (Espaço Jovem) presents itself as a construction that establishes a balance between its historical heritage and a contemporary vision.
