Location

Located in Sobreira, in the parish of São Martinho da Cortiça, municipality of Arganil.

Origin

Its construction was ordered on November 19, 1708 to serve the population of the locality, which at the time was called Estrada.

Foundation

The land was ceded by José Cortês, a local landowner, allowing the construction of the temple.

Shared Use

It served two parishes, Paradela da Cortiça and São Martinho da Cortiça.

Architecture

Small and simple, with a bell in the tower and a white facade. Formerly, the entrance was on the opposite side to the current one.

Local Heritage

It remains a place of devotion and history for the community.
