The Church of the Holy Trinity is located in Dr. Francisco Sá Carneiro Square, within the Nossa Senhora da Conceição area, in the city of Covilhã. It is situated in a relatively central point of this urban area, making it easy to identify.
This church is one of the most recent religious buildings in Covilhã. Its construction history is marked by a process that culminated in the erection of the current temple, the result of a second architectural project, after an initial proposal did not suit the desired reality. Its realization involved a significant effort and the contribution of many people from the local community, honoring the initial vision of the late Father José Fernandes.
The Church of the Holy Trinity plays an active role in the religious and social life of the area where it is located. It is a meeting point for the faithful, a venue for various ceremonies and celebrations that mark the parish calendar. It hosts important moments of ecclesial life, such as the administration of the sacrament of confirmation (Chrism), Holy Week celebrations, and other significant events for the community. In 2023, for example, it was one of the locations that welcomed international pilgrims as part of the "Days in the Diocese", before World Youth Day.
Although opinions about its exterior architecture may vary, the temple stands out for its significance to the people who frequent it. According to the current parish priest, the true beauty of this space lies not only in its physical form, but above all in the life and dynamism of the groups and movements that gather within it, giving it purpose and vitality.
