The Creativity Factory is located in the Sé and São Pedro area, an urban zone of Castelo Branco. Its location on Alameda do Cansado integrates it into the city's fabric, facilitating access to this point of interest that contributes to local dynamism.

From Former Factory to Creative Hub

The building that currently houses the Creativity Factory has a unique history of transformation. Originally, in the 20th century, it was conceived with a distinct purpose, that of a prison, a project that, however, was never completed. Later, it was adapted and operated for decades as a textile garment factory.

After a period of inactivity, the space was rehabilitated and reborn with a new identity: the Creativity Factory. Despite its current purpose, the site retains visible elements of its industrial past, such as the imposing stone arches and certain conduits, creating an interesting contrast between the former factory aesthetic and its contemporary function as a cultural hub.

An Environment for Creation and Collaboration

Currently, the Creativity Factory stands out as a dynamic and diverse center dedicated to cultural production. It is a space where culture is created and flows, serving as a meeting point for artists and professionals from various fields, such as theater, dance, music, cinema, video, television, design, graphic arts, photography, and architecture.

In this environment, different artistic agents can meet, share ideas, and collaborate on projects, utilizing a set of specialized resources. The venue offers various functionalities, including equipped workshops for woodworking, metalwork, ceramics, or textiles, as well as multifunctional studios known as "Black Boxes", coworking rooms, and an auditorium. The diversity of the spaces is designed to foster experimentation and innovation.

The central purpose of the Creativity Factory is to stimulate the development of new projects and the emergence of talent in creative and innovative industries. The space was designed to provide a suitable environment, with the necessary technical conditions, for ideas to be transformed into concrete works.

It is a place where creators can develop their activities, whether in the production of cutlery pieces, decorative elements inspired by local traditions such as Castelo Branco embroidery, or in the exploration of photographic techniques like cyanotype.
