BoomLand is located on the shores of Lake Idanha-a-Nova, in the area of Idanha-a-Nova and Alcafozes, within the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, in the council of the same name. Its position offers a natural environment, framed by the region's lake and rural landscape.
In addition to being recognized for hosting significant events, BoomLand was conceived as a permanent project, a place dedicated to regeneration. Its design aims to create a space that promotes human transformation, inspired by ideals of free and independent culture. The management of this land, acquired in 2016 by a non-profit organization, reflects a commitment to developing sustainable initiatives.
The BoomLand project stands out for a strong dedication to sustainability and the implementation of environmental practices. Several self-sustainable initiatives have been developed on site, such as biotechnology-based wastewater treatment systems and the use of wind and solar energy. Waste management through recycling and the promotion of ecological habits among its visitors underscore its role as an example of large-scale environmental integration.
BoomLand functions as an open-air art gallery, featuring various artistic installations integrated into the landscape. The space promotes a cultural vision that values free thought and the manifestation of the mind, understanding the "psychedelic" perspective as an invitation to reflection and the expansion of consciousness, rather than an association with intoxication. This multidisciplinary environment is designed to inspire creativity and mutual respect, reflecting a philosophy of interconnection.
BoomLand's commitment to knowledge sharing is manifested through a school operating since 2021. This continuous project offers programs exploring various areas, such as natural building, with a focus on ecological materials, and music production. These activities allow participants to deepen their knowledge and acquire new skills in a practical and immersive environment.
