A Planned Space

The Quinta da Braguinha Park is the result of a meticulously designed landscape project by Architect João Ribeiro. Its creation, completed in 2002, aimed to provide this area of Bragança with a structured and accessible green lung, reflecting an intention of urban planning for quality of life.

Layout and Atmosphere

With an approximate area of two hectares and a distinct triangular shape, the park reveals a layout designed for leisure and contemplation. Its structure is organized into three main longitudinal strips, with a wider central section and two lateral ones. Inside, there are five distinct zones, each with its own atmosphere, interconnected by dirt paths with cobblestone details. Extensive lawn areas invite relaxation, complemented by strategically placed flowerbeds, some at the park's vertices and another in the central strip.

Botanical Diversity

The park is a true green mosaic, with predominantly arboreal and shrubby flora, carefully arranged across its different zones. It is possible to observe aligned trees, such as pyramidal poplars, which give a particular elevation to the space. There is also a variety of shrubs whose leaves and flowers create interesting visual contrasts, including photinia and spiraea, and some willow trees. In other areas, deciduous trees and conifers mix to form small groves, notable for the diversity of shapes, shades, and the presence of colorful fruits in species like rowan and hawthorn. The flowerbeds, especially at the most striking points, enrich the environment with a selection of plants like lavenders, abelias, and pieris, which offer abundant flowering and vibrant foliage throughout the year, making the park visually appealing in any season.

Amenities and Leisure

For visitors' comfort, the park offers various amenities. It is well-equipped with benches, ideal for a break, as well as waste bins and drinking fountains. The lighting allows for pleasant use during hours of less natural light. For families, there is a children's playground that invites the little ones to have fun. The space also features an area dedicated to dogs, with a canine toilet, considering the well-being of all who frequent the park.
