The Parish Church is located in the village of Ferreira, a settlement belonging to the municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros. As the central building of the parish, it holds a prominent place in the dynamics of this Transmontana community.
This religious temple displays architectural features that date back to different artistic periods, with particular emphasis on Baroque and Rococo influences. Close observation of its construction, both externally and in its internal elements, allows for the identification of the distinct characteristics of these styles that marked religious architecture.
Inside, the church is organized with a main nave leading to the chancel, and there is also a sacristy. The choir loft is visible. One of the most notable elements is the presence of altarpieces in the nave, adorned with gilded carvings. These carved wooden works, rich in detail and with a gilded finish, follow the Rococo style and constitute a point of artistic and decorative interest within the space.
