The Painted Rock of Cachão da Rapa is situated on a granite cliff overlooking the Rapa railway tunnel, along the Douro railway line, approximately 1 km after the Tua railway station, towards the Pocinho station.

It is a painted rock with predominantly rectangular and circular geometric figures, some of which can be interpreted as human representations. There is also a checkered pattern formed by several intersecting lines that divide the elements internally.

Reduced Visibility

Unfortunately, the 30 figures present are now very poorly visible, and it is difficult to identify them clearly.

According to the Geocaching.com portal, the easiest access is via the railway line. The paintings are located just above the tunnel, but it is necessary to climb next to the well and go around the hill to reach the site of the paintings. The passage between the stones is narrow.
