Located in the southern part of Vila Flor, the fountain is situated in a recessed area relative to the main road, accessible by a staircase. The surrounding area is urban, yet tranquil, with agricultural fields at the back and an open view. The enclosure is delimited by a stone masonry wall and features granite decorative elements.
This complex integrates two fountains from different eras. The oldest is a medieval dipping fountain, topped by a belvedere built in 1578, with four Ionic columns and a brick dome. The structure is rich in details, such as the grotesques carved on the architrave and the vaulted interior.
The second is a 19th-century wall fountain, with simple lines and neoclassical influences, featuring two spouts and a wide basin in front. Next to it, there is also a drinking trough, also from the 19th century, of large dimensions and with a faceted rim.
The fountain's construction dates back to the Middle Ages, having been transformed over the centuries. The inscription with the date 1578 marks an important phase in its history. Throughout the 20th century, it underwent various conservation interventions, and is today a landmark in the urban memory of Vila Flor.
