Casa de Selores is a historical residence classified as a property of public interest in 1977.
Located in the parish of Lavandeira, Beira Grande and Selores, in the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães, District of Bragança.
Composed of three bodies built in different eras, the two oldest dating from the 17th century and the central one from the 18th century.
It presents an architectural transition from the Mannerist style to the Baroque and Rococo of the 18th century.
Model of a long house with a regular plan, symmetrical and balanced facades.
Main entrance in the center and a chapel at one end.
The chapel was built on the initiative of the Bishop of Porto, Friar Gonçalo de Morais, containing the coat of arms of the Morais family with a cross and six tassels alluding to his episcopal dignity.
The central body of the house stands out for a porch balcony supported by Solomonic columns and elements of the transition to the Baroque.
Another coat of arms present on the facades represents the Morais, Mesquita, Vieira and Azevedo families.
Casa de Selores has a rich history, being an old residence of the Morais family.
The chapel built on the property has a special significance, housing the tombs of the parents of the Bishop of Porto, Friar Gonçalo de Morais, and his brother António de Morais.
The chapel of Casa de Selores is an architectural relic that contains relevant symbolic and historical elements, representing part of the religious heritage of the region.
