Located in Vilarinho da Castanheira, in the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães, district of Bragança, in the Trás-os-Montes region.
The dolmen is an example of an ancient funerary monument, built in the Neocalcolithic period, thousands of years ago.
Originally there were several dolmens in this area, but currently only one, known as Pala da Moura, remains preserved.
The dolmen has a burial chamber with a polygonal plan, made with large granite blocks. The corridor leading to the chamber is also made of stones and covered by a large slab.
The Anta de Pala da Moura is one of the best-preserved megalithic monuments in the region and impresses with its great architectural quality.
The dolmen is located in a quiet and easily accessible place, and can be visited via a signposted dirt road.
The place offers a charming natural environment, with trees and a leisure space that invites contemplation and rest.
This is one of the most emblematic landmarks of the historical heritage of Trás-os-Montes and a must-see attraction for those visiting the region.
