The Lake of Bom Jesus Park is located on the Mount of Bom Jesus, an area belonging to the locality of Senhora da Rocha, in the municipality of Braga. It is integrated into a wooded and tranquil area, a few kilometers from the urban center, providing an environment of refuge and serenity for visitors.
The construction of this artificial lake dates back to the early 19th century. In 1806, the lands that today form the park were donated, initiating a vast landscaping project. It was in this context that the lake, of considerable dimensions, was planned and created, immediately becoming a central element in the composition of the entire space, alongside the trees and paths that complement it, marking its presence in local history.
This body of water serves as a point of contemplation and rest for those who visit the site. Its calm waters reflect the dense vegetation that surrounds it, creating a scenery that invites serenity and introspection. Its presence adds a visual and auditory dimension, with the gentle murmur of the water and the life that manifests within it, enriching the experience of those seeking an environment of peace and natural beauty.
