The Planetarium, Braga Science House is located on the Gualtar Campus, an area of Gualtar, in the municipality of Braga. This location is situated in a predominantly university environment, adjacent to the University of Minho. Its position on campus provides easy access, integrating into an area that combines academic life with broader spaces that are inviting to knowledge and research.

The Heart of the House: The Immersive Planetarium

The central experience of this space is its immersive digital planetarium. Equipped with a six-meter diameter dome and high-resolution 360º projection, it transports visitors on an authentic journey through the cosmos. It is possible to observe the night sky with remarkable realism, explore real-time simulation of constellations, or experience scientific documentaries covering a wide range of universe topics. The chair arrangement, which allows for a more reclined position, intensifies the sensation of total immersion in the projected scenes, creating a perception of floating in space.

Beyond the Stars: A Universe of Knowledge

Beyond the astronomical experience, the Planetarium, Braga Science House functions as a Centro Ciência Viva (Live Science Centre), promoting the dissemination of science and technology in various areas. The space features several rooms, an auditorium, and a laboratory, totaling approximately 500 square meters dedicated to scientific exploration. Visitors can find exhibitions on diverse topics, such as the physics of mirrors and optics, or panels that deepen the understanding of the universe.

A Space for Learning and Discovery

Since 2010, this center has been dedicated to awakening curiosity and interest in scientific knowledge. Its purpose is to make knowledge accessible to all ages, transforming complex concepts into captivating discoveries. Through interactive modules and practical demonstrations carried out in the laboratory, visitors are invited to actively participate, exploring principles of physics, chemistry, or biology in a dynamic and engaging way, complementing the observation of the cosmos with tangible experiences.
