The Joane Municipal Swimming Pools are located in the Montinho area, part of the town of Joane, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão. Situated on a plot of land that integrates the town's sports zone, its position offers an environment linked to the practice of physical activities and the well-being of the local community.

A Modern Aquatic Facility

Inaugurated on January 3, 2000, the Joane Municipal Swimming Pools represent a modern facility dedicated to aquatic activities. This infrastructure was designed to serve the population, offering a quality space for various water practices, from initiation to leisure, contributing to physical and cultural development.

The Pools and Their Versatility

The complex features two indoor pools, designed for different needs. The main pool, measuring 25 meters long by 12 meters wide, has a variable depth between 1.20 and 2.10 meters. Equipped with six lanes, this size allows for both advanced swimming practice and recreational moments. Additionally, a smaller pool, measuring 10 meters long by 5 meters wide with a depth between 0.60 and 0.90 meters, was designed for the adaptation of the youngest to the aquatic environment, ensuring a safe space for their first experiences in the water.

Support Infrastructure

The facilities of the Joane Municipal Swimming Pools include a set of infrastructures designed for the comfort and support of their users. There are well-equipped changing rooms and locker rooms, including cabins adapted for people with reduced mobility. For spectators, there are stands with a capacity for approximately 200 people. With the convenience of arrivals in mind, the venue also provides a car park.
