- Founded in the 17th century by Frei Sebastião, Prior of the Convent of S. Domingos de Viana do Castelo.

- The current building dates from the 18th century and is the work of Prioress Madre Catarina das Chagas.

Architecture and Art

- It has a rich decoration of altarpieces and details in gilded wood carvings.

- It has a baroque organ.

- The Church of São Sebastião, which is part of the convent, is a single-nave construction completed in 1734.

- Highlights include the Joanine organ built in 1776, with details in gilded wood carvings, and the curious puppet "The Dominican monkey" integrated into it.

- In the Baptismal Font there is a crucifix from the 16th century.
