The Church of São Pedro is located in the village of Figueiredo, municipality of Amares, situated within the Corredoura area. It is set in a markedly rural and tranquil environment, offering visitors an isolated context conducive to peace and observation of the surrounding landscape. Access is via Rua de São Pedro.
According to ancient records, such as those by Father Carvalho da Costa, already in 1706 the Church of São Pedro functioned as an abbey, integrated into the patronage of the Diocese of Braga. At this time, the village of Figueiredo had approximately 63 "vizinhos," providing an idea of its size in the early 18th century.
