Parque Oeste is located in the Pinheiro area, southwest of the center of Braga, in a transitional zone between the urban fabric and residential periphery. It is adjacent to the local urbanization, offering easy access to pedestrians and cyclists coming from the city.
This position allows for the enjoyment of a green space that contrasts with the surrounding streets, benefiting from tree-lined paths that follow slight changes in terrain and provide tranquil routes.
Inside the park, diverse vegetation stands out, including lines of medium-sized trees and lawn areas that coexist with more intimate zones of shrubs and groundcover plants. Clearings allow for moments of calm, while the chirping of birds permeates the entire space.
During spring and summer, the shades of green intensified by the sun create a fresh and welcoming environment, ideal for walking, reading outdoors, or simply contemplating nature.
Among the elements that give character to Parque Oeste is a rectangular stone tank of traditional origin, whose clear water reflects the tree canopy. This vestige of old water collection systems lends a historical touch to the space, serving today as a photographic point of interest.
The tank is delimited by masonry walls, covered by moss and slight patches of lichen, which give it an appearance integrated into the natural landscape. It is a place worth stopping at to observe details such as the reflections in the water and the shadows cast by the trees.
