In addition to the garden, the square features a granite fountain at the northern end. It is also possible to admire the Palacete do Conde de Carcavelos, built in the 19th century and which has served as the headquarters of the Ministry of Health.
In the vicinity of the square, there are several institutions, including the Patronato de Nossa Senhora da Luz and the São Vicente scout group.
