Casa dos Paivas, also known as Casa da Roda, is located in the parish of São João do Souto, in the city and municipality of Braga, in Portugal.
Built in the 16th century, in the historic center of the city.
At the end of the 19th century, the City Council rented the building and transformed it into the "Hospício dos Expostos" or "Casa da Roda", which was the last Roda house in Braga.
In 1986, the City Council acquired the building and carried out redevelopment works.
Casa dos Paivas has been a Property of Public Interest since 1986.
Currently, the building houses the Parish Council of São João do Souto and the Youth Walking Association.
The building features a Florentine Renaissance style and was built with materials from previous buildings, which gives it an original appearance. Highlights include the stone edges, symmetry, aesthetics and harmony in its architecture.
