This charming chapel is a point of religious and historical interest in the parish of Arentim e Cunha, very close to the city of Braga.
The original construction may have roots in the 17th century, but the chapel we see today is the result of works carried out in 1726. Throughout the centuries, it has been a place of devotion for local residents.
Simple, yet Attractive Architecture: The chapel features a stripped-down Baroque style, typical of the Minho region. The facade is plain, with a portal surmounted by a niche housing the image of the patron saint.
Welcoming Interior: Inside, look for the main altarpiece in gilded carving, a work of art that beautifies the altar.
Dedication to the Saints:
Our Lady of the Snows: Known for the local festivities.
Saint Gonçalo: He is often remembered as the patron saint of bones and for helping people in matters of love.
Celebrations: Inquire about the local religious festivals, especially that of Our Lady of the Snows (August 5). It is an opportunity to experience the culture and faith of the community.
