The Archangel is located on Avenida Marginal, in Vila Nova de Milfontes, Odemira municipality. Situated on a roundabout next to the small lighthouse, it marks an elevated point above the mouth of the Mira River, where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean. Its location offers a wide and open view of the sea, the coast, and the river banks, being easily accessible on foot or by car from the village center.

The surrounding area is well-maintained, with pedestrian walkways and contemplation areas that encourage a peaceful break. The presence of parking nearby facilitates access for those arriving by car. Symbolic character

The Archangel sculpture is the central figure of this viewpoint. Erected imposingly in the center of the roundabout, it represents a winged figure with a protective expression, facing the ocean. Although it evokes diverse opinions on its aesthetics, its positioning and symbolism give it a striking, almost vigilant, presence over the meeting point of the river and the sea.

At dusk, this is one of the privileged spots to watch the sunset. The elevated and unobstructed position allows for observing the movement of tides and seabirds, offering a tranquil and immersive visual experience.
