The Enxoé Dam is located in the municipality of Serpa, in the heart of Alentejo. Situated on the Enxoé Stream, this location offers a serene setting within the rural Alentejo landscape, typical of the region. Its position allows for the observation of the vast countryside that characterizes this part of the country.

An Engineering Work and Utility

Completed in 1998, the Enxoé Dam represents a fundamental earthfill engineering work for the region. It was planned to ensure water supply, playing a vital role for the municipality of Serpa and other nearby areas of Alentejo. The structure is impressive due to its dimensions, with a height of 23 meters and a crest length extending for 415 meters, revealing the scale of the project.

The Reservoir Landscape

Behind the dam, a vast reservoir extends, covering an area of approximately two square kilometers. This large body of water integrates harmoniously into the natural environment, creating a mirror that reflects the Alentejo sky. The reservoir contributes to the tranquility of the location, providing a setting where the quietness of the landscape invites contemplation of the surrounding nature.
