The notably wide canopy extends for an average diameter of 23.28 meters, covering an approximate area of 487 square meters. These unusual dimensions grant it the status of a true natural monument, a living testament to the resilience of the local flora.

The Secular Holm Oak of Monte Barbeiro gained notable recognition by being elected Portugal's Tree of the Year in 2019.
