Classified as Quercus rotundifolia, this holm oak stands out for its grandeur and longevity. Its characteristics are impressive, with a breast-height perimeter reaching 3.56 meters. The notably wide canopy extends for an average diameter of 23.28 meters, covering an approximate area of 487 square meters. These unusual dimensions grant it the status of a true natural monument, a living testament to the resilience of the local flora.
The Secular Holm Oak of Monte Barbeiro gained notable recognition by being elected Portugal's Tree of the Year in 2019.
