Praia dos Nascedios is located on the coastal area of the municipality of Odemira, near the town of Vila Nova de Milfontes. It is set within a broader natural landscape, characteristic of the Atlantic coast. Access is typically via a nearby parking area, a short distance from the sandy beach. This beach is integrated into the protected area of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.
The unique name of this beach is directly linked to one of its most notable natural features: the nascedios. These are various freshwater springs that emerge directly from the surrounding dunes. The presence of these springs contributes to the formation of small pools in the beach area, creating a unique environment.
Praia dos Nascedios features a sandy area with medium-sized grains, inviting for a seaside stroll. Its landscape is framed by an extensive dune system in the eastern part, which gives the place a wild and preserved appearance. However, those looking for easier sea bathing should be aware of the southern part of the beach, where a considerable rock formation stands out, making that area less suitable for swimming or being in the water.
