This beach is located on the Portuguese Atlantic coast, in the municipality of Odemira, near the town of Vila Nova de Milfontes. It is integrated into the vast protected area of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, thus benefiting from a preserved natural environment.
Its position on the Alentejo coast gives it the typical characteristics of the region's oceanic beaches.
Praia dos Aivados, sometimes referred to as Praia do Buzinheiro, features an extensive stretch of fine sand. Near the access area, the sandy stretch tends to be slightly wider.
At the base of the cliffs that delimit part of the beach, a cordon of pebbles is visible. A small stream flows onto the sandy area closest to the entrance, contributing to the natural dynamics of the beach.
Integrated into the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, Praia dos Aivados boasts a wilder beauty and a less built-up environment. The landscape includes dune systems and characteristic vegetation of the Alentejo coast, which contributes to the preservation of local biodiversity.

In previous years, Praia dos Aivados has been recognized for its environmental quality and bathing water quality. Awards such as the Blue Flag and the Gold Quality were attributed to this location, attesting to the cleanliness and good state of conservation that characterize this beach.
