Praia do Creleizão is located on the coast of the municipality of Odemira, in an area near Cabo Sardão. This coastal area is integrated into the protected landscape of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. Although direct access to the beach's sands is exclusively by sea, it is possible to view the location from elevated points on the cliff.
For those traveling by land, the area where these observation points are located is accessible from the village of Cavaleiro, in the direction of the lighthouse. Exploring the area surrounding the lighthouse and following the coastline, one finds panoramic views that allow contemplation of the natural beauty of this isolated beach.
One of the distinctive characteristics of Praia do Creleizão is the nature of its surface. Unlike many beaches with extensive sandy areas, this one is mostly formed by an accumulation of pebbles and rolled stones. This rocky composition gives the beach a unique appearance and a different texture when walking on it, shaped by the continuous action of the tides and the Atlantic waves.
The fact that Praia do Creleizão is directly accessible exclusively by sea contributes to its preservation and the maintenance of a wilder natural environment. The difficulty of conventional land access makes it a place of great tranquility, ideal for those seeking the quietness of untouched nature and a more isolated experience on the coast.
