Zambujeira do Mar Beach is located in the town of the same name, in the municipality of Odemira, on the Alentejo coast. It is part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, an area of great natural and scenic value.
Situated directly in front of the village of Zambujeira do Mar, the beach is framed by imposing cliffs that define its setting. Atop the northern cliff, one can find the Chapel of Our Lady of the Sea and a viewpoint offering views over the sandy expanse. On the southern cliff, there is 'Ti Catarina's Fountain, a local landmark. In front of the beach, the rock known as Palheirão stands out, visible from the coast.
The sandy beach has a considerable length, which becomes even more visible and expansive during low tide. The beach's outline is marked by the presence of the Zambujeira Ravine Stream, whose waters flow into this point of the coast.
The sea conditions in this area are recognized as suitable for water sports, namely surfing and bodyboarding. These activities take advantage of the dynamic waves that reach the shore, attracting enthusiasts.
This beach holds a special place in the hearts of those who visit it, being frequently referred to by several generations as "their beach," which highlights its strong emotional and symbolic value for the community and regular visitors.
Over the years, Zambujeira do Mar Beach has received various distinctions that attest to its environmental and water quality, reflecting the care taken in preserving this natural and urban space.
